Shabanov One of the Nation's Best
The Best 300 Professors has just been published by the Princeton Review. Professor Sergei Shabanov of the UF Mathematics Department is included in the list of 300. For more information on the selection methodology used see Princeton Review.
First Annual Integration Bee
The University Math Society hosted the first
annual Integration Bee on April 21, 2012. Over 50 undergraduate
students competed for cash prizes and the title.

Citrus Greening Project
Citrus Greening Disease is spreading rapidly through Florida's orange groves. A team of faculty - Mathematics Professors Burt Singer, Jed Keesling, and Sergei Pilyugin with Mathematics graduate students JoAnn Lee, Karly Jacobsen, and Jill Stupiansky together with Glenn Morris and Ariena van Bruggen of the Emerging Pathogens Institute and Susan Halbert from the Florida Department of Agriculture are engaged in modeling the spread of the Citrus Greening.
CLAS Crow Term Professor
Sergei Pilyugin has been recognized by the College with the award of a Colonel Allan R. and Margaret G. Crow Term Professorship for 2012-13.
